It depends on the noise. A clicking at startup that stops after a few seconds is normal compressor behaviour. Clicking that repeats every few minutes without the compressor running points to a failing start relay — the fridge is no longer cooling and food safety becomes a concern. A constant loud humming suggests the compressor is under stress, often from dirty condenser coils or a struggling fan. A gurgling or dripping sound is normal refrigerant circulation. If the fridge is not maintaining temperature alongside any noise, treat it as urgent.
